Management Plan for the Sarstoon Temash National Park
The team was contracted to write a Management Plan for the Sarstoon Temash National Park (STNP). IUCN guidelines were followed, and different management zones within the park were identified, including unique values zones and strict conservation zones. The Management Plan also identified an indigenous use zone for the religious and cultural use of the indigenous communities. The STNP contains many important ecosystems which are currently at risk elsewhere in the country or underrepresented within the national protected areas system. A challenging but achievable action plan was developed as an outcome of the project.
