Infrastructure Expansion Project

Consultants were contracted by the Government of Belize to prepare an EIA on the expansion of the Philip Goldson International Airport with particular focus on runway extension and expansion of the parking apron. Areas of interest centered on solid and liquid waste management and potential impacts on the water quality of adjacent water bodies.  Mitigation measures were developed for the reduction of project impacts and to improve the environmental conditions of the site. The expansion of the Philip Goldson International Airport is one of the central pillars of the government’s initiative to grow the tourism industry.
